On a road trip through the mountains, Elyse was dared by her friends to go skinny-dipping. Not only did she do it, but she then hiked up a twenty-foot cliff and dove off into a waterfall. (She left her clothes at the top, which posed a new problem...)
Elyse has always used this story to describe herself. She is a person who dives head first into life, regardless of whether or not she’ll be comfortable when it’s time to get out.
Elyse has been quoted multiple times claiming that if she could implant her iPod in her arm, she would. Elyse has always loved her music; yet the source of her courage runs deeper than that, to her friends.
Elyse met Marco Poloe at a sailing camp, and has regarded him as her best friend ever since. Elyse is currently trying to understand what happened to her last year. Her world was turned upside down when Adam Archer, the boy with whom she fell in love, told her that he was going to die of a brain tumor. She stuck with him until the end, and now is not sure what to make of it. On top of that, her old friend Analissa is dating Nathaniel, a rich drug dealer, whom Elyse has never liked. Needless to say, it has been a tough winter for Elyse, and neither Marco nor her iPod can snap her out of it.
